JOIN 100 WOMEN WHO CARE CHESTERMERE!
We're committed to making a big impact right here at home.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
100 Women Who Care Chestermere is a group of women who have committed to give. Four times a year we meet to vote on which charity to donate to. Each member donates to the charity we choose and receives a charitable tax receipt. That's all there is to it!

WHAT EXACTLY AM I COMMITTING TO?
Each member commits to donating $100 four times per year to a charity working in/around Chestermere. There are no other membership fees. Members are also expected to attend 4 meetings per year where we review nominations and choose which charity to donate to.

WHO CAN JOIN?
Anyone who identifies as a woman can join! Membership can be forfeited at any time. We ask that you inform the group administrators in writing if you choose to leave so that we can update our records.
POLICIES & INFORMATION

-
Each member commits to contributing $100 per meeting, for a total of four meetings per year.
-
A 30-day written notice is required to cancel a membership.
-
Members who miss two consecutive donations will be considered to have withdrawn from the group. However, former members are always welcome to rejoin at any time.
Meetings

Meetings are designed to be efficient and typically last no more than one hour.
-
Optional social time may be organized before or after each meeting.

Members may designate a proxy to vote on their behalf.
-
Members who are absent must either:
-
Provide a cheque to another member to submit on their behalf, or
-
Confirm their online donation within 24 hours of the meeting.

Group Nominations
-
Any member who has signed a commitment form and is current with her donations may nominate a local charity or not-for-profit organization for consideration.
Nominations must be submitted no later than two weeks prior to the meeting date. -
From the submitted nominations, three organizations will be selected at random to present at the upcoming meeting.
Each selected organization will have five minutes to present, followed by a brief Q&A session. -
Members submitting nominations must indicate whether they will speak on behalf of the organization or invite a representative from the organization to attend and present.
Voting
-
Only members in good standing (i.e., signed commitment form and up-to-date donations) are eligible to vote.
-
Each member casts one vote for one of the three presenting organizations.
-
In the event of a tie:
-
A second round of voting will be held. If the tie remains unresolved, members will vote to either:
-
Select one of the tied organizations by random draw, or
-
Divide the total donation equally between the tied organizations.
-
All members agree to donate to the organization that receives the majority vote, regardless of how they voted.
